To-Do Tuesday # 3 ~ Re-Evaluating from Life in the Scrapatch

I have been sewing.

Linking up today with

To-Do Tuesday @ Chrisknits

Much of it has been hand sewing and stitching as my knee is still tweaking

and I have been sitting.

I have made more blocks and more hexagons for my

Kingfisher Quilt

I have started a new large scale project

to use up my 30's Reproduction Fabric scraps.

This was my Scrappy Saturday Sewing.

This will be ongoing and it will pop up in my posts regularly.

~

Hmmm ... none of these projects were on my

Last Week's Goals ...

Curves QAL ~ January Goal ~ 8 Blocks from Life in the Scrapatch

My blocks are done for the January Goal for the

2021 QAL @ Patchwork Inspirations

These are Fan Blade Blocks of my own design.

I used my 8" Dresden Ruler to cut the fan blades.

I started with this small fat quarter bundle that I received last year as a

Valentine Gift in an order from the Fat Quarter Shop

and added other scrap fabrics from my stash.

~

It has been icy cold and windy here in my quilty corner

and we have had some issues with our smart thermostat's online app.

Mr. Scrapatch had to install an old fashioned ...

These are my cuts from one layer cake 10" square.

I had a happy sewing morning.

I will probably work on a different project in the afternoon.

I like to mix things up.

Works for me.

What works for you?

Do you like to work on one project at a time ...

Scrappy Weekend Sewing from Life in the Scrapatch

I have been cutting and sewing this scrappy project.

I am using my own method for making these Hourglass Units,

sometimes also called Quarter Square Triangles.

These are the first of many as you can see by stacks of cut pieces in the top photo.

This method requires little trimming to achieve these sets of hourglass blocks.

These are for the

As this is a mystery

and it is not my pattern,

and we have been asked not to post sizes and numbers of units by Bonnie Hunter,

I will not be sharing ...

Monday's Strength. Scrappy Love. Pressing On. Book Date. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength:

Now that we've finished the verses from Until We Reach Home, I was wondering where to go from here.  For now, I want to share this verse that speaks of gratefulness.
You see, we, my husband and I, had a COVID scare, but thankfully we both tested negative!
As you can well imagine, it’s been hard to find time or even enough focus to blog or craft.
I'm so grateful for these results, that I just want to read about gratefulness!  I want God to know that my heart is grateful to Him for ...

Monday's Strength: Song of Songs 3:2. Machine Embroidery and Scrappy News! Book Date Reads! To Do Tuesday. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength: Song of Songs 3:2

Continued study of some of the verses shared in Lynn Austin's Until We Reach Home.

In this book, Sofia and Ludwig speak different languages. All they have is their Bibles and basic drawing skills to communicate. He/she would find a passage that explains their thoughts and share that passage with the other. As their time to separate nears, Ludwig shows Sofia this verse to reassure her that he will find her.

This made me think: What if all we had to communicate with our loved one was the Bible?
In ...

Monday's Strength: Song of Songs 1:15. A New Scrappy Project Takes Off! Book Date Reads! To Do Tuesday. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday's Strength:  Song of Songs 1:15
Ludwig expresses his love for Sofia so beautifully! Interesting that he compares her eyes to doves. In fact, he states that they are doves.
Matthew 3:16 and Luke 3:22 state that the dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Could it be that he saw God in her eyes? Could it be that her growing faith was the main attraction?
I believe it is possible.
Proverbs 31:30 reads:  "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
This verse ...

Monday's Strength: Psalm 107, part 3. A Scrappy Finish. Book Date. Pressing On. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Monday’s Strength:  Psalm 107:31-32

As I shared on before, I was so inspired blessed by the Scripture shared on PeaBeas’ Photos and Scribbles so much so that I’m writing a series on them.  Next up are verses 31 - 32.

He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea
They were glad when it grew calm,
and He guided them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love
and His wonderful deeds for mankind.
Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people
and praise Him in ...

#the100scrapchallenge from Sotak Handmade

Ever since our move in August I've been trying to organize my studio and all the supplies in the most efficient way possible, which so far has meant moving things around constantly. I think I need to take a little break and just see what works and what doesn't for a while and then get back to it again in a few months.

Last week though, as I was rearranging things yet again, I realized I have FIVE buckets chock full of scraps! I don't even know how that happened. I use my scraps all the time ...
